I expect that there will be significant loss of information, given the level of loss of information over the past 10,000 years, I expect that the loss of information over the next million years will leave plenty of ellipses to be filled in my mythology.
While history is necessarily selective (an exhaustive account being impossible), it is important to differentiate that which is intentionally authored (or told) as history from that which is intentionally authored (or told) as myth. Myth and history serve different functions and different audiences, though they do often overlap.
